Any participant of the SpokeImpact initiative receives his or her own personal page and password. You can go online to record your physical activity or have the website administrator do this on your behalf. i.e.: If you enjoy walking, you would send in what you walked in km. This can be done daily or weekly. This will be recorded under your own personal page and tracked for you.By recording how far you walked, you have created an automatic environment of accountability. This accountability will encourage and motivate you to become more disciplined in your physical activity. Participation on this site requires you to pledge or make a commitment to donate any $ amount per km walked or per minute walked. All pledges are in support of the orphanage. The SpokeImpact program will track your walking, and multiply it by the amount you specify that you are willing to contribute per km or minute. Approximately every three months, you will be asked to send in your accumulated pledges and you will receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes. In addition to or in place of your own pledges, you can get a sponsor to pledge on your behalf.There is NO cost to participating, but it is a requirement to either pledge yourself or get a sponsor (or both) on your behalf.Example #1: John runs 15km per week. He pledges $0.15 per km. $2.25/week $27.00 every three months Example #2:Susan: active 120min/week She pledges $0.02/minute $2.40/week $28.80 every three months 2. Which discipline (physical activity) qualifies?To start with we have categories for the following: A. walking (km) B. running (km) C. cycling (km) * D. being physically active (in minutes) * Being physically active may be anything you or your family likes to do (including cycling, walking, running etc). This category will be tracked in time (min) instead of km. It is designed for those who prefer not to quantify results in distances. Pledges will be made based on minutes instead of km.3. What personal information will be visible for anyone visiting the web site?--- Participants are listed in alphabetical order. This is visible by anyone visiting the site.--- Each participant has their own page with detailed information. Your personal info such as email, phone numbers and address are NOT available to anyone but you and the website administration.--- The summarized results of your physical activity are visible, the pledge amounts are optionally visible. It is your choice whether other users or visitors to the site can see them. 4. Can changes be made once I am on the program?The program is written in a way that allows you to change values pledged going forward at any time. You can also stop participating at any time. 5. General information ---The website home page has summarized information about combined $ value pledged. ---There are articles or testimonies of kids whose lives have been dramatically transformed through the loving environment of the Mully Children’s Family. ---The guest book is there for your comments. ---Pledges will be administered by Mully Childrens Family Charitable Foundation for tax receipt purposes.
